New Engine Ladder Joins Engine Tanker in Service
Last evening after a month of training the Round Lake Fire Department moved the signs from the old EL 542 onto the new EL 542 and put it and the new ETA 543 in service. We would like to thank the truck Committee that put hundreds of hours into planing and supervising the construction of these units. Combined with the time spent on additional training over the last month, our volunteers put close to 1,000 hours of time into this process in addition to their regular training, administrative duties and responding to emergencies.
Special thanks to past Assistant Chief Scott Hickey who serves as a volunteer consultant to the truck Committee and helped us come up with an innovative way to address the unique fire protection challenges that our community faces.
